Blend
We build each scent by hand from essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance, then let it rest for a week.
Our story
Hollow Moon began with one table, one pot of wax and a habit of lighting a candle to mark the day. Eight years on we still pour in batches of forty.

Why we make them
Most of what we do in a day is automatic. Lighting a candle is not. You strike a match, you wait for the flame to catch, and for a minute you are paying attention to one thing.
So we make candles around the feelings people actually ask for: to rest, to focus, to feel safe, to begin, to let go. Each scent is built from real plant materials, and we test every blend for a month before it goes on sale.
The pour

We build each scent by hand from essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance, then let it rest for a week.

Soy and coconut wax are warmed slowly to 185°F so nothing scorches and the throw stays clean.

We pour at 135°F into vessels with the cotton wick centered by hand. Forty candles a batch, never more.

Every candle sits for seven days. The scent binds to the wax and the burn evens out.

Trimmed, labelled and wrapped in recycled tissue, then out the door in plastic-free packaging.

The calendar
We pour on the new moon and the full moon, forty candles at a time. These dates come straight from the sky.
What we stand for
Soy-coconut wax, cotton wicks with no metal core, and fragrance free of phthalates. The full list is on every product page.
Glass and ceramic that wash clean and live on as vases and pen pots. Our cream ceramic is made in a family studio in Portugal.
A batch of forty means we taste every scent, check every wick and fix mistakes before they ship. We would rather sell out than rush.
